Dr.Esc
Esc is a key labeled Esc or Escape that is used to generate the ASCII Escape character (Control-[, ASCII code 27 in decimal), the character code traditionally used to initiate an escape sequence. As most computer users no longer are concerned with the details of controlling their computer's peripherals, the task for which the escape sequences were originally designed, the escape key was appropriated by application programmers, most often to mean Stop. This use continues today in Microsoft Windows's use of escape as a shortcut in dialog boxes for No, Quit, Exit, Cancel, or Abort.
The ESC Key is also known to stand for "extra services control" not escape (Essentials of 80x86 Assembly Language By Richard C. Detmer pg.14)

TJ_Dragna: Do you ever hit the Esc key to make gifs and stuff stop?
splintersag914: I just stopped your face_hypno by pressing ESC. Cool trick TJ.
crumbumb: no but i used to press on the gif with my mouse and move it on firefox 2 and it would make the gifs stop. firefox 3 does not let you do that.

Esc või Escape on klahv, mida kasutatakse loomaks ASCII Escape tähemärki (Control-[, ASCII kood 27 decimal-süsteemis), tähekood, mida tavaliselt kasutatakse väljumistsükli käivitamiseks. Kuna arvutiakasutajat enam ei huvita kuidas tema arvuti perifeerimisseade töötab, esialgne mõte escape klahvil kadus. Arvuti aplikatsioonid programeerijad võtsid ise Escape klahvi kasutusele, enamasti Stop tähenduses. See kasutus püsib tänapäevani Microsoft Windowsi dialoogikastides, enamasti tähendades No, Quit, Exit, Cancel, või Abort.
Teine tähendus ESC klahvil on "extra services control" (ekstra teenuste kontroll) ("Essentials of 80x86 Assembly Language" By Richard C. Detmer pg.14)
